click times:13 Cleaving is the process that a optic fiber is “cut” or precisely broken for termination or splicing.
With the upper and lower part of the cleaver main body, and 2 precisive rubber pads press the fiber tightly, just like cutting glass plate, fiber is cut by scratching the fiber surface then applying stress so the glass breaks in a smooth manner along the stress lines created by the scratch.
Properly done, the fiber will cleave with a clean surface perpendicular to the length of the fiber, with no protruding glass on either end (called a lip).
With this process, we can understand, the more precisive the rubber pads are, the more tight the fiber was pressed.
And the more the slide guide is breaking the leakgage of the fiber, the smoothier the fiber cutting will be.
Good cleavers are automatic and produce consistent results, irrespective of the operator.
With good fiber cleavers, the user need only to clamp the fiber into the cleaver and operate its controls, then fiberglass is cleaved automatically.
The good cleavers are called as precision cleavers.
And, FIberwill, here we are, provide you several types of precision fiber cleavers.
